Dressing Up As A Dem
You may remember that Andrea Suarez, the failed candidate for the 43rd Democratic District, fraudulently represented herself as a Democrat. Since losing, she’s started approvingly retweeting Trump.
And yet despite the fact that her MAGA politics were obvious, she was embraced by Seattle City Council President Sara Nelson, as well as Council Public Safety Chair Bob Kettle.
Nelson and Kettle supported Suarez even though she was openly promoting a MAGA governor candidate (Semi Bird), and other Republicans like Raul Garcia, who ran against Maria Cantwell for Senate. Suarez was an invited speaker for Republican events, has aligned herself with right wing MAGA grifters like Brandi Kruse and hired a proud-boys propagandist named Jonathan Choe, who punched a woman in public, to produce her videos. She also said the “Democrats are as unfair and if not more or equally corrupt and evil as the right-wingers, as the MAGA party.”
Although she kept putting “Democrat” on all her signage, the Democratic Party made it clear that her claims to be a Democrat were false. Anyone paying a modicum of attention to the issue understood this.
But none of this kept Sara Nelson and Bob Kettle from supporting her.
In the picture above, you can see that Sara Nelson attended her fundraiser and Bob Kettle attended as well. Kettle also donated $450.
They were joined in their efforts by one of Trump’s biggest MAGA donors in the state, George Petrie, by Jonathan Choe (the abuser and insurrection supporting proud-boys advocate mentioned above), the MAGA Seattle Police Officers Guild (who had more officers at January 6th than any other department in the country), and the famously right wing Realtors association–who all maxed out their donations for Andrea.
This is your Seattle City Council President and this is your Public Safety Chair, stumping for the MAGA lady.
Since losing, Suarez started approvingly retweeting Trump, surprising no one.
Fortunately, most voters didn’t fall for her obviously fraudulent claims. Suarez lost by over 38 points, with less than half of the votes of her opponent.
But your city council President still stumped for her.
Bob Kettle fought hard for her.
Even though I have no idea who they voted for in the Presidential, it is clear these folks do not share our values.
